I think the subject matter of the photo is great, and it has the potential to be an amazing photo, but the horizon line is straight across the middle, which messes up the composition. Some creative cropping could fix this.
It also looks like the gate, which is the central and most interesting part of the picture, is out of focus.
This picture in particular would also look beautiful with darkened edges and with contrast pumped up within the gate to bring out details.
Of course I don't mind a constructive critique, how are we meant to improve otherwise?
I agree that something about the angles in this photo look odd looking back at it now! I think it's the position of the gate, it's not actually used, it's just kind of "thrown there" so it's not level with anything, therefore maybe taking a photo straight on of the landscape hasn't worked in this particular occasion. I also agree with what you say about editing the photo a little more, back when I took this photo last May I had a very basic editing programme I'd go back and tweak a few things but I don't want to start editing my old work as then I won't be able to compare how far I've come now.
